Gonzalo,
thanks a lot for this extraordinary good news. I have had several
opportunities to benefit from Andrew Sullivan's knowledge and wisdom, his
clear, unequivocal statements of principle, and his stalwart stand for what
is best for the Internet. This is an outstanding designation.
I share many of Dave's concerns for the future functionaing of ISOC. Let's
allow Andrew to get started in the job, and, soon afterwards, have an ope,
frank, and constructive discussion. We do need to have a vital, vibrant
chapters community in full cooperation with the rest of ISOC, which some of
us perceive as weakened by mid-level staff esp. in the regions. But hey,
before we each choose how to burden him with our worries, first let's give
a great welcome to Andrew!!
And, let us not delay one second in recognizng the huge achievements of
Kathy Brown; her smarts, strength, leadership and warm friendship. She has
done a gigantic job. No disgreement on details can, for me at least,
detract from that.
Gonzalo, cheers to you and the Board of Trustees.
