Hi, All!
Let me just introduce me in a few words-I am a Vice Chair of ISOC IoT SIG
(we are a newbie!), and have quite an extensive experience in fundraising
in Armenia and abroad.
>From my point of view, global efforts, including outreach campaigns, can
help much to bring more resources to ISOC, build strategic cooperation
frameworks and enhance capacities.
At the same time we need to go deeper in this initiative and have a
differentiated approach to different targets. Some people would like to
donate their money to their community, some to the dedicated projects in
their community, some-to the activities abroad, in developing countries,
etc. And some of them can also donate to ISOC in general, giving a right to
ISOC to decide where to direct the money.
However, it would be productive if we have a platform (may be
crowdfunding?), where a a donor can meet his expectations and donate not
only directly to ISOC or a Chapter, but also to the direction, project,
activity, etc.
Also, if we have such a platform, not only money can be raised, but any
other resources (i.e equipment, in kind contributions, etc) can be
mobilized for the successful implementation of the projects) activities.
I would be pleased to make my contribution, if we come to the idea of the
creation of such platform.
