Dear Chapter Leaders,

As per your request we are extending the deadline to confirm your participation in the Chapterthon to May 31st. Details of the initiative below . Remember , by May 31st , we just need your confirmation , the selection of the project will be done afterwards.

As some of you may remember, we ran a pilot program in LAC last year, called Chapterthon. It was a project marathon between Chapters in the region to encourage Chapter members to engage and find innovative solutions around the issue of "Connectivity". The winner was the Venezuela Chapter. Based on this successful experience, this year we have decided to take the Chapterthon to the global level. We hope you are ready to take up the challenge!
This year's theme will directly contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goal on Quality Education (UN SDG 4<http://www.undp.org/content/undp/en/home/sustainable-development-goals/goal-4-quality-education.html>) . We will therefore be looking for projects that will benefit schools and students around the world.   *   Local and global visibility for the Chapter and the work done locally
  *   Bringing opportunities to members and engage them in the Chapter

Estimados Líderes de Capítulo,

Dada las solicitudes de varios Capítulos, hemos extendido el plazo para confirmar su participación en el Chapterthon para el 31 de mayo . Cabe destacar que,  para el 31 de mayo, sólo requerimos su confirmación para ser parte de la iniciativa, el proceso de escoger un proyecto se hará posteriormente. Detalles del programa abajo.

Como algunos de ustedes pueden recordar, el año pasado, llevamos a cabo un programa piloto en los Capítulos de LAC, llamado Chapterthon. Fue un maratón de proyectos entre capítulos de la región para animar a los miembros de Capítulos a participar y encontrar soluciones innovadoras en torno al tema "Conectividad". En base a esta exitosa experiencia, este año hemos decidido llevar la maratón a nivel mundial y ¡Esperamos puedan sumarse al reto!

El tema de este año contribuirá directamente al Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible de las Naciones Unidas sobre Educación de Calidad (UN SDG 4<http://www.undp.org/content/undp/en/home/sustainable-development-goals/goal-4-quality-education.html>). Por lo tanto, estaremos buscando proyectos que beneficien a escuelas y estudiantes de todo el mundo.
