The theme of the event is “Connecting the Unconnected and Restoring and Building Trust in the Internet”.The event is made of three (3) sessions: Accra Node Session, Africa Node Session and the Global node session.Session OneThe first session of thefirst part of the program brings together Heads of Departments,Lecturers/Researchers from some selected universities where computer science orcomputer engineering is/are taught for a round table discussion. The purpose ofthis round table discussion is to explain the mission and activities of theInternet Engineering Task Force (IETF), to the Ghanaian university community theunderstanding. The second session of the first part of the program will discussthe internet access in Ghana and its thrust. The output of this session willconstitute the input of the session of Part 2.Session TwoDuring the second session– Intra-regional or Africa session – will become an active “Internet node” andhook to Africa Internet Community through teleconferencing facilities. Focus will be on the unconnected and therole organizations in Ghana could play to connect the unconnected: thechallenges and drivers. Also the most critical thrust on the Internet issues inAfrica will be reviewed. Session ThreeThe third session, AccraNode will be hooked to the Global internet Community as passive node and wewill listen to other community views onthe internet access and thrust at the global level with some additionalactivities.
