[Chapter-delegates] InterCommunity 2016 Event Program

Dear All,

We are pleased to inform you that the ISOC Ghana Chapter will be hosting
the  InterCommunity 2016 event on September 21, 2016 at Ghana-Korea
Information Access Centre (IAC), University of Ghana, Legon Campus. The
theme of the event is “Connecting the Unconnected and Restoring and
Building Trust in the Internet”.

The event is made of three (3) sessions: Accra Node Session, Africa Node
Session and the Global node session.

*Session One*

The first session of the first part of the program brings together Heads of
Departments, Lecturers/Researchers from some selected universities where
computer science or computer engineering is/are taught for a round table
discussion. The purpose of this round table discussion is to explain the
mission and activities of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), to
the Ghanaian university community the understanding. The second session of
the first part of the program will discuss the internet access in Ghana and
its thrust. The output of this session will constitute the input of the
session of Part 2.

*Session Two*

During the second session – Intra-regional or Africa session – will become
an active “Internet node” and hook to Africa Internet Community through
teleconferencing facilities.* Focus will be on the unconnected and the role
organizations in Ghana could play to connect the unconnected: the
challenges and drivers. Also the most critical thrust on the Internet
issues in Africa will be reviewed*.

*Session Three*

The third session, Accra Node will be hooked to the Global internet
Community as passive node and we will *listen to other community views on
the internet access and thrust at the global level* with some additional
activities.
