[Chapter-delegates] Internet Society Fellows to WTSA 2016

Dear Members,

As a sector member of the ITU Standardization Telecommunication Sector (ITU-T), the Internet Society (ISOC) will be participating at the upcoming ITU World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly 2016 (WTSA-16). We have additional resources to send three members from ISOC Chapters as part of a fellowship programme to this meeting. Our members are critical in providing on-the-ground perspectives around an open, reliable and secure Internet, and we want your help to shape the dialogue at WTSA-16.

We are pleased to announce the ISOC fellows selected to participate at WTSA-16<http://www.itu.int/en/ITU-T/wtsa16/Pages/default.aspx>  on October 25 to November 3.

We received a good number of applications from qualified individuals. All applications were reviewed carefully. Given the competitive nature of the process <http://www.internetsociety.org/apply-fellowship-itus-world-telecommunication-standardization-assembly>  the selection committee had the challenging task of identifying three candidate that meet the criteria for the limited spots. The fellows selected are as follows:

•    Mr. Alejandro Pisanty, Mexico
•    Mr. Petro Kantchev, Bulgaria
•    Ms. Sagarika Wickramasekera, Sri Lanka

We are highly confident that this strong and regional diverse group will play a critical role in advancing ISOC’s principles and positions at WTSA-16.
