Chapter leaders,
Is the Internet in danger of fragmenting along technical, economic or policy lines? Has it already? What can be done to prevent fragmentation?
The Internet Society Greater Washington DC Chapter and Microsoft are co-sponsoring what looks to be an excellent event on the topic of "Is The Internet Fragmenting?" tomorrow (Tuesday, May 10) from 3:30 - 5:00 US EDT (UTC-4). Our President and CEO, Kathy Brown, will be speaking as part of the panel. Other speakers are from the World Economic Forum, the Global Commission on Internet Governance, Microsoft and the OECD. A keynote will be given by US Ambassador Daniel Sepulveda.
Information about the event, the live video stream, resources and more can be found at:
https://www.internetsociety.org/events/panel-internet-fragmenting
If you are in the DC area you can attend in person and there is a registration link on the page.
In addition to the live video stream via Microsoft's Skype Meeting Broadcast, there will also be live-tweeting using the #Fragmentation hashtag: https://twitter.com/hashtag/fragmentation?f=tweets&vertical=default&src=hash
I'm looking forward to joining in (remotely) and encourage anyone else interested in this critical topic to do so as well.
Dan
