Dear all,

when it comes to the forthcoming elections, our chapter has in the past
conducted straw polls of our "members" to give our leadership team a
better idea of the candidate the Chapter should support.

We do not charge fees and have over 3000 "members" both in the UK and
abroad. I use the quotation mark because the membership is listed on the
Internet Society AMS system, as people who are interested in the UK
Chapter's activities.

Recently the question arose in our chapter as to who were our Chapter's
electorate. Is it the 3000+ names listed in the AMS system? Some might
say that it is not, since these names are unverified. Half of these
names are based abroad. So, if your chapter is without paid members, how
do you define your Chapter's electorate?

Kindest regards,

Olivier
