Dear Chapter Delegates,

The Chapters Advisory Council is developing recommendations to improve
support for Chapters. One of the recommendations that is being considered is
to envisage a new type of funding for Chapters, for ongoing activities. The
idea that is being considered is that each active Chapter would be able to
request a specific annual amount, itemize its budget, and send a report at
the end of the year justifying the expenses (e.g. invoices, etc.).

The funds in question would be used to pay for ongoing chapter activities,
such as web site costs, accounting and other legally imposed costs, cost for
the annual general meeting, costs for travel that is planned every year,
etc. The administrative costs may include salaries or fees for
professionally-provided support, e.g. web site design, accounting, etc.

The group working on the recommendations has decided to run a small,
informal, survey to find out how many Chapters could be expected to apply
for such ongoing funding, for what types of specific activities, and for
what annual amounts.

This is just an informal survey, there is no expectation that Chapters would
be bound by the answers given to this survey.

You will find the survey at:

  https://internetsociety2.wufoo.com/forms/mq677ab1ozz8ua/

Please submit only one response per Chapter. If we receive more than one
response for a Chapter, we will use only the last response submitted.

Please respond before 19 August 2016.

Thank you,
Richard
(co-facilitator of the Chapters Advisory Council Working Group on improving
support for chapters)
