 Hi Glenn -

 This is Jane Coffin.

We will have a team on the ground in our efforts to
promote more Wireless for Community networks.

Microsoft encouraged us as well as others to attend.
After learning about the focus of the event, we agreed to
 sponsor.

Also note that we are helping Battlemesh in Porto in
early May with fellowships for their “youth” mesh
hackathon.  Sponsoring the fellowships came out of really
great discussions with the Guifi.net team who we are also
 part of the Catalan chapter.

We have been talking to Guifi.net to understand more
about their community commons-based network and are also
hoping to talk to lots of folks at the DSA.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

And, for all on the list – any best-practices from
any community networking activities that any of you may be
 involved with are most welcome.

We see a lack of published best-practices, business
case, and regional events for community networking in some
regions and are exploring more ways to amplify community
practices and holding events to bring people together (kind
 of like our peering and
  IXP meetings – stay tuned)!

 Thank you,
 Jane

 Hi

As menitoned  the  Dynamic Spectrum Alliance Global Summit
2016 in Bogota Colombia  has  ISOC as a  silver
 sponsor.

 Note:  6harmonics.com  a
Canadian company is speaking at the conference.
Microsoft is involved with  TV Whitespace with 200
 locations in the Phillipines.

Since the spectrum has opened it becomes an interesting
opportunity for ISOC  to speak up on this issue.  I will
be arriving on Tuesday afternoon and  promoting   IEEE
SIGHT  on Community of Practice on  various  connectivity
 projects we are doing including
a project with the new  ISOC  SIG on Enabling Communities
 with Communication Technologies.
