I did hear this comment which was (in my understanding) to the effect that Chapter Delegates list, like practically all lists, is the domain of the vocal few, while Bob expressed the hope that the CAC, due to its structure of regional representation, might better present the views of what I might term the 'silent majority'.

Correct. And some cultures may be more reserved and/or people that do not use English as their first language may not be participating on the list (as actively or at all). Is this list exclusive enough? What tools are needed for other languages?

In any case, it is fine for great discussion to begin here but eventually you need to self-organize with the ChAC and ensure you consult all of your global stakeholders to come to a consensus view. What I see now are the seeds of that, or the start of the process, but not yet a fully grown tree, so to speak.

What I did hear elsewhere was 'the people are revolting' rhetoric. which might be considered a bit of an overstatement based on the actual proportion of overall Chapter Officers who have made vocal criticisms.

One impression I have is that perhaps some longtime chapter list members are not accustomed to having an equal voice & an officially recognized channel to communicate consensus views & equal coverage of people appointed to the board, as these are recent developments and their experience before any of this existed is so long. Perhaps it is time to adjust a bit here and do some self-examination of the best and most productive next steps that will result in your achieving your goals, if I may humbly say. Perhaps for years you did not have an equal seat at the table or people paying attention to *everything* you say, but this is no longer the case.

My recommendation is to stop the 'swirl' so to speak and channel all of this amazing energy and desire for progress into action at the ChAC. ISOC staff and the Board are all listening and want to engage & help.
