Olga Cavalli is an Internet leader whose work has been fundamental for
enhancing a relevant participation of Latin America and the Caribbean in
Internet Governance. In 2007 she co-founded the South School on Internet
Governance <http://www.gobernanzainternet.org/> which has granted more than
1200 fellowships for attending an intensive training on Internet
Governance, organized in eight different countries of the Americas. Since
2012 the School is also open to the community through remote participation,
hosting thousands of attendees from all over the world.
During 2007- 2014 she was distinguished by the United Nations Secretary
General, being chosen to be a part of the Internet Governance Forum's
Multistakeholder Advisory Group, MAG

Recognized by ISOC as a “Game Changer

inclusion of girls and women in ICTs and the Internet, organizing
activities jointly with ISOC, ISOC Argentina Chapter, ITU, UNESCO, ICANN,
the Argentina National Center of Engineers and the University of Buenos
Aires.
In 2012 she co-founded Dominios Latinoamerica
<http://dominioslatinoamerica.co/>, a news website and a conference focused
on online tools for the productivity of SMEs and entrepreneurs of the Latin
American and Caribbean region. Website includes content in Spanish, English
and Portuguese.
As an Internet expert, she has been appointed by the ITU as rapporteur of
the newly established Study Group 20 on Internet of Things and Smart Cities

Since 2006 Olga is very active in ICANN, she was GNSO Council Member (2007-
2011) and GNSO vice chair. Presently she is the Argentina Representative in
the Governmental Advisor Committee, GAC, where she is vice chair. Her
involvement in ICANN includes the participation in several cross-community
working groups, including the Cross Community Working Group on
Accountability for the IANA transition and other processes.
Olga was the Argentina representative in WSIS (Tunis 2005), a member of the
steering committee of the eLAC Regional Plan of Action for the Information
Society in Latin America and the Caribbean (2010 - 2015) and the
coordinator of the IADB Roaming Project in Regulatel (2010-2013). Presently
she is involved in the eLAC Internet Governance and in the Infrastructure
working groups and a member of the Latin American and Caribbean IGF
coordination committee.
In Argentina, she was a Member of the National Commission on Cybercrime
that defined the Argentina Cybercrime Law (2008 – 2009), a Member of the
Commission that created the National Digital Agenda of Argentina (2008 –
2009) and a Board Member of the National Center of Engineers, CAI.
Previous professional experience includes involvement in radio planning and
design of the national mobile phone networks in Argentina, Internet service
network design and its implementation in rural areas of Argentina.
Olga is a Teacher at the University of Buenos Aires, the President of the ISOC
Argentina Chapter <http://sitiosimple.com/isoc-argentina-/#!/-bienvenido/> and
she is also involved in the development of wireless connectivity projects
in rural areas of the center and north of Argentina. She is also a member
of the ISOC Chapter Advisory Council

Latin America and the Caribbean.
Olga is frequently invited as keynote speaker and panelist in international
summits and events, and she is a frequent contributor writing papers and
chapter books in subjects related with her areas of expertise.
Her education includes a PhD in Business Direction, a Master degree in
Business Administration, a Master degree in Telecommunications Regulation,
and Electronic and Electric Engineer.
She is fluent in Spanish, English, Portuguese and German, and can
understand French and Italian.
Olga lives in Buenos Aires and is the mother of Juana and Federico.
