Dear Chapter Leaders,
This is to provide you with information on ISOC’s 2015 Board of Trustees Elections. The deadline for candidates by petition has now passed and the Nominations Committee has reported that no petitions have been received. Therefore the final slate for the Chapters election remains as follows:
- Walid Al-Saqaf
- Johan Helsingius
- Rafael Ibarra
- Youn Jung Park
Electronic ballots will be sent to all voting representatives on 13 March, officially marking the start of the elections period. Voting representatives will have until 6 April at 23:59 UTC to cast their votes. In this year’s election cycle, Chapters and Organizations will each elect one Trustee to the Board for a three-year term commencing in July. (The IETF will select two Trustees this year, following the appointment process documented in RFC 3677.)
To help you learn about the candidates and their views on various issues impacting the Internet Society, we have assembled a number of resources for your use.
Candidate Bios
Each candidate was invited to submit a biographical summary and photo. Please take time to consider the experience and backgrounds of the candidates for the Chapters election. These materials are at:

Candidate Forum
Again this year we have launched a Candidate Forum. The Forum consists of a number of questions on issues important to the Internet Society, and candidate responses to these questions. Please take a moment to read responses provided by the candidates for the Chapters election:

Discussion Groups
New this year are election discussion groups on the Connect platform: one for Chapter leaders and one for Organization members. The Chapters Election Discussion Group enables you to discuss issues raised in the Candidate Forum, and allows the candidates to respond to any follow-up questions you and other Chapter leaders may have. The discussion group will remain open until 23:59 UTC on 12 March, just prior to the issuance of e-ballots to voters. Please watch your email inbox for an invitation and link to join the 2015 Chapters Election Discussion Group.
