Dear All

I would like to share some *great* news with you all: Tommi Karttaavi has accepted to become our new Manager, Chapter Development - Europe.
Tommi will report to the European Bureau Director but will, of course, work in *very* close collaboration with Joyce Dogniez and her dream team.
He will work with us on an average 2 days/week.

Lots -if not all- of you already know Tommi from his very recent life as the Chair of ISOC Finland. We all have appreciated his many contributions to ISOC chapters in Europe when he was leading the activities fo the Finnish Chapter so we are very lucky to have him helping us to develop our chapters activities in Europe.
For those among you who would not know him, here some further info on Tommi’s background:
Tommi has worked in the ICT industry since 1994, his past employers include the Helsinki University of Technology, a major Finnish Telecom, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Finance. He has served in the Board of ISOC Finland from 1998 to 2012, serving as the Chapter President 1999 - 2000 and 2002 - 2012.
Tommi has a degree in Marketing from a Commercial College and BSc in Computer Science from the University of Helsinki.
Tommi is a native Finnish Speaker and speaks English fluently. He also speaks some Swedish plus French and Spanish at beginner’s level.

Tommi is based in Espoo, Finland. He will start with ISOC on November 1st and you will be able to join him @ “Karttaavi at isoc.org<mailto:Karttaavi at isoc.org>”

Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Tommi!

Best Regards
Frederic
