Absolutely NOT (it's NOT ISOC standards compliant)

> Hello everyone,

Hello Evan, please post to a standards compliant mailing list. We have set this one up a long long time ago… there seemed to be very little warning of this.

As far as I recall the purpose of this council is to create representation of the chapters for ISOC global. This seems the wrong way around, we have plenty ISOC global forcing their stuff into the Chapters already…

> Based on work undertaken over the last year, and a flurry of new activity over the last month, the current core authors (John More and myself) believe that this document addresses the communications and collaboration needs of Chapters, in creation of a Council as described in the ISOC Bylaws. We hope that it will be acceptable to both Chapters and the Board of Trustees (who must also accept it).

I suggest that if the Chapters don't accept it then why should the Board?

I have written in the Chaptersadvisorycounciltaskforce mailing list a number of posts, I was not aware of anything that happened in 'the last month'. ???

the definition:
> The Chapters Advisory Council of the Internet Society (“CAC”),

As per my previous posts, my understanding is that the Chapters Advisory Council is for Chapters to advise global, so I expect this is to be changed to "The Internet Society Chapters - Advisory Council (CAC)".

> is the advisory body of the Internet Society (“ISOC”) representing its Chapters,

change: is the advisory body of the Internet Society Chapters to the Internet Society.

> as authorized in Article VIII, Section 2 of the ISOC Bylaws

The Bylaws change, I suggest we just nab this: "Internet Society Chapters are groups chartered according to the ISOC".

Sincerely

Alan
