+1

The same old song: be it website or tools: we educate the world
how to do it right, we proudly join orgs like open stand, we
support W3C, we host the IETF ... and when it comes to ourselves:
people who don't understand the standards nor their purpose
pay a lot of money to others others who neither understand,
to reinvent the wheel and implement some shiny toys instead
of something usable.

I hope one day you and other optimists will disclose the source
of your optimism after all these years where things went worse
instead of improving. I think we have to face it and develop
strategies how to live with it - while complaining once and a
while. (I know - there is payed staff within ISOC
who have the knowledge, who understand the standards and know the
tools, but obviously they don't get involved in such decisions.)

Best, Klaus
