Hi,

Joly, I'm not sure what this is referring to. Not meaning to single you out, I note that yours was a top post, we all do it. That would be contrary to RFC 1855. I think 1122 refers to hosts although maybe you are referring to the RFC process in general. I can understand that there may be some elements of 1855 that have become outdated - although afaik there is no update - and afaik that means the RFC should still apply according the IETF/ISOC process.

I agree with Randy that new people calibrate accordingly, it took me a while to get it myself. Sorry if I did not explain my deflation. I would be happy if this was the agreed way forward.

This list (@elists.isoc.org) is becoming a legacy list that ISOC host, one where it is possible to apply RFC 1855. I am, thankful that it is still supported although it appears that it may be phased out or just 'die'.

ISOC has invested in a new system "Connected Community" which disables anyone from possibly adhering to basic netiquette. It's completely blatant from the first line of every single message, the two major rules are disregarded. The headers are terrible and the entire message encourages abuse. To the dismay of but a few, the ISOC CEO has inadvertently explained that ISOC have invested and are now rolling out that platform. It's been used for the Chapters in parallel with this list since June, now also added to the African Chapters. This may just be my problem, I'm sorry but I find it counter productive to post by email in that (Connected Community) system, it just feels like I'm undermining the principles of ISOC.

Sincerely

Alan
