Greetings, Chapter Leaders
We told you some time ago and now we are ready to open up Connect for your communication, collaboration and feedback.
Now is the opportunity for all Chapter Leaders to use the main features of the system, such as discussions, connecting with other members, creating events, sharing information, etc.
Connect is the fulfillment of a commitment made long ago to the Chapters of ISOC. It is a place where you can participate in the liveliest discussions, collaborate on the hottest projects and work with amazing people – your peers – around the world.
Connect has the capability to generate a virtually unlimited number of discussion groups and communities. And has many other features that we will be rolling out more and more in the very near future.
You are all subscribed to the Chapter Leaders Community. This Community is only for Chapter Leaders, appropriate staff and Internet Society Trustees. it's a bit like Chapter Delegates, only far more organized, capable, easy to use and flexible.
To get started, here is what we would like you to do:
Login:
* Check your mailbox for a login email or go directly to http://connect.internetsociety.org/home
* Use your membership database or portal details to login. If you don’t remember them, use the retrieve password or username tools. For any other questions, contact isoconnect at isoc.org<mailto:isoconnect at isoc.org> .
Start using the basic tools of the system by:
* Participating in discussions via email or directly on the platform;
* Adding data to your personal profile (optional);
* Updating your privacy settings;
* Updating your email subscription settings;
* Connect with other members;
* Add an event;
In this initial phase, Chapter Leaders are coming on, to be followed next week by the Advisory Council Members and finally by the full ISOC Global Membership on May 29. Please, feel free to share your thoughts and start discussions in there, including providing us your feedback. Or, if you prefer, just shoot us an email at isoconnect.isoc.org
We’ll open a webex tomorrow Friday 16th of May at 12pm UTC for one hour as an optional getting started session, or helpline if you will. Webex details are below.
We will also be using this community to ask your opinion about certain ideas and the future of Connect. In true Internet Society fashion, this will be an open space for interaction and constructive collaboration.
Again, if you have questions, feel free to reach out!
Enjoy the platform! See you there.
