My post today is concerned about the issue of sound quality in yesterday's
events which I tried to watch yesterday. The ISOC UK event via WebEx
and the RightsCon on Livestream.
Each had issues and although I don't blame the volunteers but I do want to
emphasize a solution and an opportunity.
I am a producer with PRX.org this is the Public Radio Exchange and as a
producer you upload your sound recordings for public radio. In most cases
you can earn money. In my case my sound recordings are free.
My idea is quite simple.
Each chapter is equipped with a sound recorder ie. H2 or H4

Here is an example
Here is an example on BIG DATA

A ISOC volunteer at the event sets up the recording and records the entire
event.
A the recording is on a SD card and it can be editted in Audacity with a
sound byte before and after and a short introduction of the event, time,
place etc.
The recording can be uploaded to Soundcloud, Youtube, Archive.org or PRX
Perhaps we can can have a discussion in person in Singapore?
Any interest?
