[Chapter-delegates] ISOC NGL and Ambassador Programme

Thanks for alerting us all to this pause in the Ambassador Program. I hope that this means that at most it is being evaluated and then will return strengthened.

I have also been suggesting to Ted Mooney that ISOC have an expanded program (in addition to the Ambassadors and NGL Programs) of trained interns that could be assigned to Chapters around the world to provide assistance, a sort of Internet Corps. Volunteer organizations can benefit greatly by having at least one paid staffer.  The intern benefits by getting to work with Chapter leaders.  The Society would benefit from increasing the number of future leaders who have been trained in the principles of the Society as well as who have worked in different geographical areas. 

The program need not be very expensive. Interns would be paid only living expenses and a small salary.  Generally they would have a single two- or three-year assignment.

I have seen the benefits for NGOs from this sort of intern program.
