Hi Cintra
Thanks for thinking of the heart and soul of ISOC
My comments reflects my experience working with ICANN to promote
fellowship beyond the Least Developed Nation category to be inclusive to
the First Nations in North America and Australia. ISOC needs to
acknowledge that First Nations have incomes as low or lower than many
'emerging' nations which were recipients of the program. ICANN's
approach to our ideas was the creation of a mentorship program which
included a North American, a South African and a Australian. These
individuals were assigned to mentors in the ecosystem and they were active
in various working groups beyond just attending meetings and being a
passive observer.
If the program is being reinstated perhaps this is an opportunity to
revamp it's core function, deliverables and metrics
Thanks
Glenn
