Happy New Year from ISOC-NY!  We kick off 2014 with a glreat webcast from
DC on a vital topic - broadband mapping. Without accurate mapping it is
impossibe to plan initiatives or deploy resources effectively.. The current
situation is thoroughly unsatisfactory, with the National Broadband
Map<http://broadbandmap.gov/> essentially
representing an incumbent wishlist. Here in NYC, on the commercial front,
the NYCEDC has a new crowdsourced initiative - the NYC Broadband
Map<http://www.nycbbmap.com/> -
to accurately gauge the state of play, which I am sure Virginia Maloney
will talk about tonight.
