<div dir="ltr"><div><br></div><div class=""><div class=""><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr"><div>Happy New Year from ISOC-NY!  We kick off 2014 with a glreat webcast from DC on a vital topic - broadband mapping. Without accurate mapping it is impossibe to plan initiatives or deploy resources effectively.. The current situation is thoroughly unsatisfactory, with the <a href="http://broadbandmap.gov/" target="_blank">National Broadband Map</a> essentially representing an incumbent wishlist. Here in NYC, on the commercial front, the NYCEDC has a new crowdsourced initiative - the <a href="http://www.nycbbmap.com/" target="_blank">NYC Broadband Map</a> - to accurately gauge the state of play, which I am sure Virginia Maloney will talk about tonight.</div>
