The Tribeca Film Institute’s (TFI) Latin America Media Arts Fund supports
documentary, animation, or hybrid feature-length films from innovative film
and video artists living and working in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central
and South America.
The Fund looks for films that bravely push the boundaries of artistic
storytelling and show a new and exhilarating side to the Latino identity.
Grants of $10,000 are provided in support of films that are story-driven
and in the advanced stages of development, production, or post-production
with no existing U.S. or Latin American distribution in place. In addition
to funding, each grantee will receive exclusive guidance from the Tribeca
Film Institute to ensure that each film reaches completion and enters the
U.S. marketplace from the best possible vantage point.
An extension of the Fund, the TFI/Bloomberg Fellowship is awarded to
Brazilian, Chilean, Colombian, and Mexican documentary filmmakers to aid in
the development of their projects at any stage.
Online applications may be submitted from December 5, 2014, through
February 5, 2015. Supporting materials submitted by mail must be postmarked
by the final deadline.
