True, but the higher the number of votes - even if the count includes
abstentions - the greater the legitimacy of the election.

Abstentions count towards quorum in a conventional vote and can make the
difference between a legitimate vote an an illegitimate one.

IMO it sends a poor sign to our community, as we strive to advocate for
ever-greater member involvement and policy action, when so little of our
own leadership chooses to exercise its democratic franchise.

So I agree with Vint that abstentions are legitimate. Having said that.
personally I do not see the point in abstaining, unless you truly see all
three of the candidates being of equal value. You don't have to vote for
two people, even though you can, if you just prefer one.
