The irony is that one can do a lot with 20k , including (but not limited to ) :
  - secure chapter to chapter collaboration
  - secure dns infrastructure
  - secure database (spilt secret )
  - secure mailinglist

Ed

I find the email worrying too. Is ISOC really cash-strapped to be crowdsourcing $20k from its members and beyond( see http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/don-t-let-spam-restrain-socio-economic-development )? Could it be the ISOC membership database has been compromised? What else has been compromised besides the DB if indeed the DB has been compromised? Should members be worried their Personal Identifiable Information(PII) might be out there somewhere in the hands of the wrong people or this is really a credible project from ISOC?

Best,

EAO

Urban dictionary:

1. hard up == desperate or deprived

"I was a sad case a few years ago, until I met lovely Sandra. :) "

2. hard up == Not having enough cash, money; broke. In a rock and a hard spot. A difficult situation.

"I was hard up for cash after my trip to Vegas."

Which one? :)
