Hi all,
Very interesting exchanges about the future of ISOC Chapters! Thanks
Elver to start such process with simple and sound questions for those
benefiting salaries directly from ISOC and those who "works in the
oven", e.g. at Chapters level. I guess without the later, no role and
even funds for the former! But, I'm convinced that all of us must keep
in mind the genuine fact to proceed is to work faithfully with a mind of
solidarity, as our process is really interlaced.
So, saying that I just point out that Elver question 2 is really an
important one, not for the Staff, but merely for the BoT in charge of
defining and supervising the Staff! But before, it's important for all
the community to be have clear and operational understandings of the
role of Chapters in ISOC, keeping in mind their maturity and ...
locations! This can be a part of the bundle of answers to question 2.
To end my thought, let's me assume that question has a quick response :
"each chapter has the right and the duty to set up ITS ACTIVITIES and
ultimately to find means to overcome financial and human resources
difficulties encountered".
I hope that these exchanges will continue beyond the existing "facts"
about the role and the management of Chapters!
All the best
Ousmane
