Hi All
I would like to share with you a link to the IEEE EPICS Program
https://ieee-elearning.org/outreach/course/view.php?id=980
This initiative is a funding opportunity for chapters to partner with
local high schools and IEEE Sections and Chapters to promote humanitarian
projects. In particular improving access to the disabled, internet access
to the poor, off the grid electrical system to power mobile phones and more
EPICS in IEEE is a program that organizes university students and/or GOLD
groups working with high school students to collaborate with local area
humanitarian organizations on community service projects.
Established projects throughout:
- North America
- South America
- Africa
- Europe
- India
Each has addressed community needs by finding technical solutions to issues
involving access and abilities, education and outreach, environment and
human services.
EPICS in IEEE aims to both increase high school student interest in
engineering, computing and technology, and to demonstrate how these
subjects can benefit society and humanitarian causes.
The EPICS in IEEE training modules aim to teach project leaders the proper
tools and skills that help to initiate and manage a successful EPICS
project. The lessons also function as a coaching tool for project leaders
to inspire continued student interest in engineering and humanitarian work.
The process is quite simple and I encourage you to connect with the local
IEEE section or student branch
