[Chapter-delegates] ISOC By-Laws

Dear ISOC Community Members and Chapters,

 The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that at its meeting Monday
we approved unanimously the revisions to the Internet Society By-Laws
that were unanimously recommended for our adoption by the By-Laws
Working Group.  Adoption of amendments to the By-laws requires a 4/5
vote, or a minimum of 10 Trustees; ten Trustees were in attendance.  As
the next step, we look forward to our working together to move forward
with their implementation.  The new By-Laws and an explanatory
side-by-side of the changes will be available on-line for your
information. 

 I also want to express on behalf of all of us, the Board, the By-Laws
Working Group and the ISOC staff our appreciation for the many
contributions of our Chapters and members to these new By-Laws.  Your
comments have contributed to a stronger result, with By-Laws that are
updated to reflect the Internet Society as it is now and as we want it
to be.

 A special thank you goes to the members of the By-Laws Working Group,
in particular its community members, Avri Doria and Bill Smith on behalf
of the Organization members, and John Moore and Hans Peter Ditler on
behalf of the Chapters.
