Colleagues:

I am one of the co-convenors of the DC Chapter of the Internet Society, and
wanted to provide a clarification about the upcoming INET Washington DC
event.

Alejandro Baruch made the following statement in a recent e-mail:

It is the privilege of any chapter to organize events as it sees fit within
- very broadly - the guidelines and principles of ISOC. Granting an event
the INET brand does imply a full endorsement by the Society as a whole

The INET Washington DC event was organized by the ISOC HQ staff, and not by
our chapter. This is not a chapter event to which the "INET brand" was
granted--it was designed from the start as an INET regional event. We are
providing some support for the event, but we were not involved in planning
it.

Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions about this.

Regards,

-jeff
