Dear Sabrina

The formation of ISOC Chapter in Gauteng (South African Province) is a
great step forward, noting the the other SA Chapter has been somehow not
very active. The idea of having a single chapter in a large country where
members are geographically distant, affects participation of members who
are far off. The formation of the chapter will provide a forum from the
listed founding members an opportunity to engage ISOC issues. This I can
deduce from our own Kenyan sceanario where members in other towns rarely
attend meeting hence do not actively participate in activities. I
personally know Octavia Kumalo (Dot Africa) as a very engaging person and
bringing those qualities to ISOC community will be advantageous.
