Hi,
in http://globalvoicesonline.org/2012/09/09/cambodia-mandatory-internet-surveillance-cameras/ we are told that the government in Cambodia is mandating all cybercafes and telephone cabins to install surveillance video cameras, to run them, and to retain the video recordings for three months. The arguments are stunning to the Internet mind. Rights, freedom, and even lives may be at stake.
A friend in our community is mentioned and quoted with always wise words. Let's make sure we are ready to support him long in advance to any escalation of troubles and in a way that doesn't jeopardize him any further.
Petition anybody? anybody closer to first-hand information who can steer us wisely?
Yours,
Alejandro Pisanty
