Thanks for the honor Alejandro. Though in general I'd be ready to accept I
have a few reservations:
- Since the By-Laws are discussed now for a while I assume that this
group shall do some final editing rather than make something new.
- As from the discussion at INET2012 and later discussions on mailing
lists I still cannot see that the way ISOC shall be controlled and
governed reflects the spirit of its mission.
- I still believe that being "cause based" does not require a small group
of people in control and a huge membership with no say. (This might
be appropriate for the Cath. church or some dictatorships. But not for
orgs that want promote democratic virtues.)
- Having me (and maybe the other ones that you proposed) on the committee
bears the risk of reiterating discussions that were rather unproductive
till now.
- As I wrote in my last mail on this: I don't expect these By-Laws will
significantly change the way ISOC is governed. So my preference would
rather be to promote change by other means.
So let me summarize: yes I'd be ready to accept.
