1. ISOC Armenia Chapter organized a workshop supported by the Event Funding
Programme of the ISOC. The main topics of the workshop were:
-  Presentation on Armenian edition of Jovan Kurbalija’s book “Internet
Governance” 
-  ISOC position on ACTA, PIPA and SOPA
The presentations were warmly accepted by the local community and the
importance of the similar events were stressed. The book was distributed in
Ministries of the RA, government offices, mass media and schools. 

2. ISOC.AM prepared recommendations based on the last version of ISOC ITR
matrix and submitted them to the Ministry of Transport and Communications
(MTC). MTC distributed recommendations among governmental agencies and main
telecom operators. ISOC AM vice-president, G. Saghyan made a press -
conference to mass media on ITR new proposals. There have also been several
meetings with high level representatives of governmental agencies, where
ITRs were discussed. The goal is to work with the MTC to develop an official
position on new ITRs that incorporates the ISOC AM Chapter.

3. On June 6, 2012 ISOC Armenia Chapter together with National Academy of
Sciences and ASNET-AM organized an IPv6 day in Armenia. I. Mkrtumyan made a
presentation on the state of IPv6 deployment in Armenia. It was stated that
although Armenia is ranked high in Ripeness (2nd after Slovenia) it was
mostly because LIRs (ISPs) are quite advanced and well informed. At the same
time they don’t care much about bringing IPv6 to end users leaving it for
future demands. A. Petrosyan made a presentation on the state of IPv6
deployment in Armenia academic and research network (ASNET-AM). ASNET-AM is
the most advanced network in Armenia in IPv6 due to the ISOC Community grant
“Upgrade of Armenia academic (research) network to IPv6 readiness”. The
event was widely commented in press and TV.
 
4. ISOC Armenia Chapter had started the implementation of the ISOC Community
grant “Creation of Internet Availability Center at the Cultural Center of
the Armenian Society of Blind and Visually Impaired People”.
