[Chapter-delegates] Updated Guidelines for Consultations

To all Chapter Leaders,

IN 2009 and 2010 there was a chapter and member-led process to develop guidelines and a process for engaging in constructive dialog and discussion concerning matters of importance to the Internet Society members, chapters and staff.  Called the Sphere Consultancy Program, it was never  fully implemented, though it had the endorsement of a number of participants and interested community members.

As team leader for Membership and Services, I took up the project to review this process, revise and update it as my own consultations have informed, and then to provide a DRAFT of an updated set of guidelines for regular and informed consultation.

Please review this short document and comment back to me at your earliest convenience regarding it's usefulness, format and, for those of you who are familiar with the Sphere program, the extent to which this reflects the spirit and agreed way forward from the Sphere process.

We will be working to translate this document into French and Spanish in the very near future, for comment on the draft.  The final document will be translated into additional languages.
