Dear Colleagues on the lists 'Asia-Pacific Chapters' and 'Chapter
Delegates'

More than one month ago -- on 30 June 2012 -- I had shared with you my
offer (sent to /jobs-temp-chapter-apac at isoc.org/) to serve, in response
to the announcement that ISOC is looking for a person immediately
available for a period of 6 months, for the Chapter Development
Position-Asia Pacific,.

As several of you had commented kindly on-list and off-list, I think it
is appropriate to let you know what I know so for.

In response to my offer, I received an auto-response, saying "We wish we
could respond personally to every applicant who expresses an interest in
one of our open positions, however that is not feasible."

Though I cannot imagine that there was a crowd of applicants who were
immediately available, I have to accept that it is not feasible to get a
response from ISOC "jobs." But I would be happy to know if anybody has
information how ISOC Central has dealt with this need for which the
announcement was seeking an "immediate" solution.

As my text had said clearly, I was not desperately applying for a job,
but I made an offer to assist. As a person still responsible, until next
month, for the leadership in a small chapter in a difficult environment,
we are interested that this Chapter Development Position-Asia Pacific
will be functioning soon, as we hope that it can provide assistance and
advocacy in face of the obstacles to our development which we face.
