"Copyright violations are a real problem - At least I think we can all agree?" This is the REAE problem.. i.e the way every discussion about IP start.. From the copyrigth holder point of view...

I.P is more than a copyright problem.. We need to observ the whole environment as origin of the good you are protecting (is acceptable? Is ethical,?), time to protect (should we protect a copyright 20-50 years when the copyright holder in the very first year have their initial investmen return in 1'000.000 times? ), rights of users (why is this only a commercial right and very limited to a some few cents as the CD or DVD or MeDIA value?), market control and life control from copyrigth holders (it's not always true what Eric say: we are sometimes FORCED to buy...) And more as the same PRINCiPLES and CONCEPTS behind IP such us innovation, enterpreanur spirit promotion, and more.

Nobody wants to work on the whole aspects but only from the big fish point of view.
