Dear Members,

This year again, the Internet Society will participate to the Internet
Governance Forum (IGF) 2012 that will be held on 6-9 November in Azerbaijan.
ISOC has been a long-time supporter of this unique multi-stakeholder
platform and we have recently increased our financial contribution to the
Forum.

Our Membership is a key element of the Internet Society’s engagement in the
IGF. Many of our chapters, individual members and organizational members are
actively engaged in this event. The ISOC community is also well represented
on the newly appointed Multi-stakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) since the
Chair of the ISOC Board, Raúl Echeberría, several of our Members (Olga
Cavalli, Veronica Cretu, Lilian Nalwoga, Judith Okite, Abdelaziz Hilali,
Theresa Swinehart, Nii Quaynor) and myself as ISOC staff, are members of
this group.

We have submitted a series of workshop proposals which are available here:
http://www.intgovforum.org/cms/w2012/proposals

To leverage the Internet Society’s participation in the IGF process, we are
currently preparing different opportunities for our Members: pre-event and
on-site briefings, written documentation, on-site social events, etc.

Important: Please let us know if you have submitted any workshop proposals
for the IGF and we will make sure they are promoted at the upcoming MAG
meeting on 15 to 17 May, in Geneva. As we get closer to the event, we will
continue engaging with you so we have a chance to collectively share
information and leverage mutually our activities.

Reminder:
- The Seventh Annual IGF Meeting will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan
from 6-9 November 2012. The main theme for the meeting is: “Internet
Governance for Sustainable Human, Economic and Social Development”.
- The next Open Consultations and MAG meeting will be held on 15-17
May at the ILO Headquarters building in Geneva, Switzerland. Registration
for these meetings is the same as the registration for the WSIS Forum:
