< Apologies for any cross-posting>

Hello All,

Please join me and the rest of the Internet Leadership team in welcoming Niel Harper to the Internet Society.

Niel (pronounced Ny-elle) is the new Senior Manager, Next Generation Leaders. In this role, he will be focused on two key areas:
Securing traction on our current NGL programmes, including:
Elearning (4 classes being offered this year in English, French, and Spanish)
Ambassadors to the Internet Governance Forum
Fellows programmes to World Bank and OECD
Accelerating our NGL activities to drive local and regional impact

Of the more than 50 applicants for this role, Niel was a clear standout for his passion for what we do at ISOC, his sharp curiosity, and his experience and keen interests at the intersection of technology and policy, particularly in capacity building with emerging leaders. Perhaps most importantly, however, Niel has been an NGL participant himself. He was selected for the 2011 English elearning class and was also one of our two OECD Fellows last year.

He holds an MBA in Total Quality Management from the University of Leicester (Leicestershire, UK) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Telecommunications Regulation & Policy from the University of the West Indies (St. Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago). Niel is also an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) registered with the UK Engineering Council and a Fellow of the British Computer Society.

He is based in Barbados and will continue to work there in his new role.

Regards,
Toral, on behalf of Steve Conte, Leni Nazare, and Vyria Paselk
