There are at present different opinions ? apply Wiki general editing
rules or not? I think it is most important to consider some
fundamentals:
The Wiki has information related to ISOC as a whole (including the
list saying which Chapters exist, supposedly not updated at present),
and it has access to specific information on Chapters.
I consider it to be surprising that a publicly accessible Wiki on ISOC
exists and there is no immediate clarification from staff saying who
(at ISOC Global) is responsible to make sure that this information is
correct. I would appreciate to receive, on this list, such
clarification to be given soonest - as the Wiki is pubic - stating who
is responsible for what, related to this Wiki.
As long as there is no clarity who is responsible to make sure that
the list of Chapters is correct, it is also not enough to say that the
Chapters are responsible to edit their related content.
Is a Wiki ? with wide open editing rights - really appropriate to
carry important information about ISCO Global and ISOC Chapters?
But maybe a different kind of Wiki is important, as a public forum on
ISOC affairs - with links to authoritative institutional information?
The new ISOC website has more information than I can research quickly
to find out if there is also an address like ?ISOC in a nutshell?
(easily accessible from the main page) which would give some really
brief and basic information about ISOC Global, and a list where all
Chapter website links can be accessed by one mouse click.
