[Chapter-delegates] Sad news from ISOC Poland

Patrick,

I don't know how 'beneficial' this is, but at the meeting I said
something to the effect that ISOC Finland's board made a decision not to
be on Facebook because

a) some of our members a very privacy conscious and don't want to be on
Facebook

b) Facebook's business model seems to be in direct contradiction with
ISOC's core values (you know, openness of the Internet etc)

We are using Twitter, however, and quite recently opened a YouTube
Channel (with only one video for the moment), so it's not that we are
opposed to social media per se. We just didn't feel that Facebook was
right for us. At the meeting last week I also suggested that we should
look into things like Diaspora for more open, standards compliant and
distributed platforms.

But I don't want to make too big a deal out of this, and as for the
ISOC-LU FB page, I'm already liking it :)

Best,

Tommi
