Good evening:

I guess that nearly everyone on this list can read and write English.  
That is not the problem.

The issue is rather that substantive information and analysis should  
be forwarded on by Chapter Delegates to their Executive Committees and/ 
or Membership.
Eventually to the public and media in their countries.
That is the point where a stronger multilingual policy should kick in.

Perhaps it is up to the Chapters themselves to make translations  
(there has been a recent example).
Or ISOC staff could take care that what they write for us is available  
in several languages. (which has been done in a few cases)

On Friday in Bucharest there was a proposal on the table that we  
should use less e-mail and more Wiki-style websites where  
contributions could be archived by subject thread (and presumably  
translated in due course, subject to importance and demand) . . .

But I am getting out of my depth technically speaking, here. So,  
someone else pick up this thread if necessary.
