ISOC IGF Ambassadors program

As you know, this year again, we offered an IGF Ambassadors Programme. The
call for applications is now closed and we are expecting the 2011 selection
to be announced at the end of June.

As part of the Internet Society's Next <http://www.isoc.org/leaders>
Generation Leaders programme, the IGF Ambassadors programme is designed to
involve members in ISOC's global engagement activities while providing
valuable expertise and know-how to the IGF meeting in Nairobi. The Internet
Society supports participation of first time Ambassadors as well as
returning Ambassadors from Internet Governance Forums in Rio (2007),
Hyderabad (2008), Sharm El Sheik (2009), and Vilnius (2010).

Preparatory process for ISOC members and ambassadors

Before the IGF, we will organize for our members and ambassadors:

- a preparatory conference call (date tbc) to discuss the 2011 IGF
themes, ISOC plans and members' engagement;

- an on-site briefing session (25 September for ambassadors, 26
September for members; dates tbc shortly);

- an on-site social event (evening of the 27 September, date tbc).

We will also have an ISOC booth at the IGF where you can easily get in touch
with staff and other ISOC members. In the meantime, if you have any
questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

Constance Bommelaer

Director, Public Policy
