Absolutely Chris ! Do you have any concrete proposal in mind. I will be
interested to work with you and others on it. Talking about mobile sector in
Africa, there are more mobiles phones (classic ones) in Africa than
computers , and based on that It is clear that the future of the Internet in
Africa will be mobile. Business incubation network can be interested by
that.

Thanks Victor for the site address.

 

I had a look at this site a while ago and it seems very interesting and they
continue to expand the incubator network across the developing world,
including Africa.

The main focus of the existing World Bank strategy has been on sector reform
and facilitating private sector investment (particularly where they claim
attribution to some of the growth of the mobile sector).

Their new strategy is based on the principal that there exists a “strong
causal link between IT investment, if well executed, and productivity
growth”. Forming new PPP for investment is a central theme as well as the
use of ICT as a transformational enabler. This creates opportunities for ICT
business as well as ICT Enterprise services e.g call centres, local content
development, Facebook Africa.....

Maybe we can develop a proposal?

incubator development programme in the developing world.
