Dear Chapter delegates,

we will soon (Wednesday 19th January, AM CET time) be announcing that  
Markus Kummer is joining the Internet Society as ISOC's VP of Public  
Policy.  As many of you know, Markus most recently served as the  
Executive Coordinator of the Secretariat supporting the United  
Nations’ Internet Governance Forum (IGF), and more details of Markus'  
experience are available in the forthcoming press release.

This announcement has been carefully timed to ensure appropriate press  
coverage and the announcement process has been orchestrated to favor  
European press.  The press release will be distributed to major news  
wires and in multiple languages.  Kindly direct all MEDIA inquiries  
you receive to Greg Wood at <wood at isoc.org> or to the appropriate  
Regional Bureau Manager.

You will shortly receive the press release (to coincide with the  
formal announcement), and please no tweets or Facebook postings ahead
