Hi Victor, Rahman, all:

The ISOC Trinidad & Tobago Chapter intends to become very active in the
social media space and establish itself as a regional leader on this front.

We will be establishing several "presences" which will be communicated to
all as we work towards filling out our various committees etc. who will be
charged with the mandate of keeping these spaces up-to-date.

In my role as Vice-Chair and Chair of the Membership Committee, I am
charged with the mandate of growing our membership base and also keeping
our members well informed and satisfied that they are members of a vibrant,
dynamic and active organisation.

To this end, you will soon see the ISOC Trinidad & Tobago Chapter activated
on Google+, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube, as well as our
soon-to-completed web presence (www.isoc.tt) - we will be keeping our
members, and indeed, the wider global community informed about our current
and past activities and goals as well as crowd-sourcing ideas, suggestions
and recommendations regarding our future work.

As a start, it would be really useful if, based on their experiences, the
members of this list could share some thoughts about:

1. How to both grow and retain an active membership base
2. How to best utilize social media (or alternatives) in less
well-connected communities to communicate the ISOC vision and mission

NOTE: As a personal preference, I do not network on Facebook (although you
can subscribe to my various externally-driven updates/shares there via

there!

Rgds,

Tracy
