All,
As I have told some of you privately, when I joined ISOC in late 2007, I mentioned to Lynn and the executive team that I planned to retire in early 2011. I am surprised how quickly that date has rolled around. From here forward, I will be cutting back to working about one-third time for ISOC, as a part of the newly merged Strategic Global Engagement-Public Policy group. I obviously remain strongly committed to the success of ISOC, and I'm happy to have the opportunity to stay on part-time. I have particularly appreciated working with ISOC's membership. Your advice, engagement and friendship have contributed a lot to my ability to do my job, and I've appreciated the opportunity for our formal and informal meetings and discussions.
I will be taking several days off to deal with some family matters and then will be back on line part time in mid-May. As I said, it is a pleasure working with you, and being able to contribute to making progress on the vital issues that we deal with every day. I'm looking forward to continuing to be part of ISOC's work, but hopefully with a little more free time and a little less travel. I am sure we will be staying in touch either through ISOC or in other venues.
best regards,
Bill
