[Chapter-delegates] ISOC Next Generation Leaders [Upcoming Call for Applications]

Hi Khaled. I apologize for the delay in responding.

We're hoping that Chapters can be helpful in engaging their membership
and regional networks about the programme. Highlighting the programme
through our Chapters not only benefits the programme, by receiving
high quality candidates from a wide range of backgrounds and areas of
expertise, but also benefits your membership base. We're making a
strong effort to expand our outreach networks so that we can encourage
new ISOC membership - not just global members, but more importantly
new Chapter members. This is a great opportunity to bring new talent
to ISOC's work.

Outreach is just one area that Chapters can help with identifying
local talent. Explaining the programme at member meetings, and
perhaps translating programme brochures, is another way Chapters are
vital (we have the 6 U.N. languages now and more in the works).
Stressing the standards of criteria to potential applicants is also
extremely helpful, as it helps potential leaders find the most
appropriate NGL component for his or her professional growth.

In our applications we ask for references, and in this manner we can
see which applicants have been nominated by our Chapters. In future
rounds, we can consider a local pre-selection or "filtering" of
candidates but as this is the first round for eLearning in particular,
we'll see how our current efforts fair and then work on refining our
approach.

I hope that was helpful,
Connie
