At the SF-BAY ISOC IPv6 panel event in May we discussed how media will react
to IPv4 exhaustion and as expected it is a crisis! Richard Jimmerson from
ARIN pointed out that the media sensation will hit sometime next year and
Internet leaders will have to talk to various media organizations to explain
that it is not a crisis and the Internet is not going to stop working and
that the transition to IPv6 is fairly easy but just has to be done.

I wanted to ask here if ISOC will play a part in calming the media frenzy as
it breaks out? I know ARIN is planning to send some folks to news
organizations when it happens but do they have enough resources and need
help? Also what do other global chapters doing to respond to such media
reports?

Thanks to Joly for posting this on Facebook as I don't normally read the NY
Post :)
