Norbert,
I am sorry that you come out offended by my note. I should have mentioned
that I do consider there are notable exceptions in the NCUC, and in
particular in its steering group. Some brave souls like yourself have
continued to strive in general for a more democratic functioning of that
community.
I stand by my assertion that by and large it has been damaged and even
obliterated at times by a small group which managed to establish a set of
skewed bylaws, an artificial order of priorities, a bully pulpit,
unnecessary turf wars, a separation from
a set of vital issues, and a narrow agenda which has little
interest for many more organizations with the Internet at heart than
actually function properly within its framework.
We should constructively look forward and make sure that the
accountability everyone demands from ICANN be equally clear for the NCUC
and that the problems from its history do not seep into other user
representation structures.
Now back to the main channel: contributions to the document in response to
Bill Graham's call, right?
Yours,
Alejandro Pisanty
